The F1 world can get crazy with rumors; the latest one floating around is about Lewis Hamilton. Apparently, the word on the streets is that Lewis Hamilton might go to jail. There is no official confirmation for the same. Despite that, fans are speculating it may be because of his over-the-limit driving footage of a GT-R34 in Japan.

After a mediocre 2022 season with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton drove a Nissan Skyline GT-R34 in Japan. He posted the footage of the same on his Instagram. The footage shows the Brit speeding, drifting, and spinning the car around the city.

As this was a rented car, the rental company has reacted to Hamilton’s footage on Twitter.
They stated, “This is a car from Omoshiro rental, but this video was not taken with our permission. This manner of driving is strictly forbidden.”
While it may be a transgression by Hamilton to exceed driving limits, the rumors of the Briton going to jail are quite baseless.
Although there is no official confirmation from any Japanese authorities or anyone else regarding arresting Lewis Hamilton, the speculative rumors have drawn reactions from the fans.

waking up & seeing lewis hamilton could potentially be going to jail over doing donuts is unexpected but not surprising 😭😭 hes so unserious

The FIA considers donuts harmless even if any driver does it without permission. However, if Hamilton has done donuts with a Nissan Skyline, then it might be up to the Japanese authorities to decide.

While it would be pretty selfless on Hamilton’s part to step aside for Mick Schumacher, he knows the German is good enough to secure his seat elsewhere.

The Briton may have engaged in some ‘Tokyo Drift’ action, though unless we get some official word on any penalties, fans should not blow these rumors out of proportion.
If any penalty is coming Hamilton’s way, fans trust him to inform the same. Being a 7-time world champion, he knows his responsibilities.

me neither but i mean, he's lewis hamilton, with that name and money i don't think he's going to jail😭😭 people are just joking around
— anny 🌶️ (@formulanny) November 25, 2022
While people are joking around these stories, it’s fun to have some banter. But claiming that an international sports person is going to jail with the lack of any factual confirmation might be a little unreasonable.
