There have been a lot of rumors and questions surrounding the future of Daniel Ricciardo in 2022. The Australian driver has not performed up to his usual standard and has struggled to grab points in most races. There has even been a lot of doubt about whether he will race for McLaren in 2023 or not.

Although he has a contract with the team until the end of the season, the British team has been making signings in IndyCar to spark the rumor mills. The team recently took to social media to interact with their fans. They asked their fans to drop an orange heart emoji to signify their loyalty to the team.

But fans on Twitter asked the team if they considered Ricciardo as a part of their McLaren family amidst his struggles.

 

After his successful outing in Austria, Ricciardo took to social media to address the rumors about his future.

The Aussie driver has been quiet on the subject of his future with the team and the sport. He has been working hard to sort out his issues and help the team in the championship.

Ricciardo decided to address the rumors after he took to social media yesterday and expressed his intentions to stay with the team.

“I am committed to McLaren until the end of next year and am not walking away from the sport. Appreciate it hasn’t always been easy, but who wants easy! I’m working my a** off with the team to make improvements and get the car right and back to the front where it belongs. See you in LeCastellet,” said Ricciardo.

There is still time for the Honey Badger to turn his season around with a string of consistent point finishes. He has shown glimpses of his old self this season in Australia and Azerbaijan.

But everyone knows his capabilities behind the wheel and all he needs is a little bit of luck. With his statement, maybe he can completely focus on extracting the maximum performance out of his MCL-36 in the second half of the season.
