Red Bull finished a tricky 1-2 at the Spanish Grand Prix. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez’s drive was arguably not an easy one where they faced consistent challenges. But despite all the trouble, Red Bull had the ultimate victory as Verstappen now leads the championship. Moreover, for the first time, Red Bull’s female Human Resources Head, Joanna Fleet, was on the podium.

At the traditional trophy ceremony, a team member from the winning team is selected. This member joins their winning driver and acts as the representative of the team. Notably, Red Bull decided to give this honor to Fleet for the first time. Several fans understandably appreciated this move from the Austrian outfit.
Fleet has been working with the team for 8 years now. She has acted as their HR Manager and currently leads the Human Resources department for almost more than a year now. However, Fleet is not the only woman to have stood on the F1 podium. Notably, Mercedes, have honored Stephanie Travers as a podium joinee alongside Hamilton almost 2 years ago.

Verstappen and Perez managed a marvelous 1-2
This victory marks a consecutive third GP win for Verstappen. After race leader Charles Leclerc retired the car, things become easier for the reigning champion. However, Mercedes’s George Russell still held back Verstappen. To make things worse, his RB-18’s DRS was not working properly. This visibly upset the Dutchman who was struggling to find a way past the brit.

However, Verstappen finally got the lead of the race for good when teammate Sergio Perez was asked to let him through. He comfortably finished the last few laps, unbothered and unchallenged. Moreover, he now sits at the top of the driver’s championship chart 6 points ahead of Leclerc, who is now holds the second spot on the table.
