Now that the Japanese Grand Prix is approaching, let’s talk about Yuki Tsunoda, the Red Bull Racing driver. Being one of the most dominant drivers in the Japanese racing scene, he has won the 2018 Japanese F4 championship with the Honda Formula Dream Project team. After progressively improving his standings in earlier seasons, he was noticed by Red Bull. However, it wasn’t his effort alone that made it happen. In this entire journey, he has been supported by his family, who backed him at every stage.
Yuki Tsunoda’s Father Nobuaki Tsunoda and Mother Minako Tsunoda
Yuki Tusnoda has arguably had a somewhat similar family dynamic to most racers, with his father Nobuaki Tsunoda being his mechanic during the early stages of his career. And just like his dad, Yuki’s mom, Minako Tsunoda, has also been highly supportive of his career choice. What makes his parent’s contribution even more valuable is the fact that Yuki doesn’t necessarily come from a wealthy family. Still, his mum and dad were able to see through his racing career, which can be quite expensive, to say the very least.

Back in 2021, Yuki Tsunoda spoke about his father’s contributions to his career. As per motorsport.com, the driver stated, “My father was my mechanic until I was around 14 or 15 years old, I have to thank him for all the success I have so far – he has helped me to become a better driver. “
Adding details from his father’s teaching, Tsunoda said, “Braking was one thing he taught me the most, particularly how and when to brake. He taught me that braking is very important going into the corner and that can make the car rotate.” After explaining the braking technique, there was a maneuver that his father taught young Tsunoda and he described it saying, “And if you can rotate the car more than others, you can apply the throttle again earlier than others. I practiced that a lot in karting. It gave me a lot of confidence and I still use what I learned even today.”

Yuki’s dad, Nobuaki, is a businessman who supports the family, and his mom, Minako, is a housewife. While Yuki Tsunoda’s father has been at the forefront of his career, his mother has supported him silently. However, his parents aren’t the only family that pushed him to be the young F1 star that he is today.
Yuki Tsunoda’s Younger Sibling, Miu Tsunoda
As per Luminous Lines News, the Japanese driver is the elder sibling of Miu Tsunoda, who is two years younger than him. Miu Tsunoda is also a competitive racer and is currently participating in the Japanese Formula 4 Championship. She jumped into racing at the age of 10 and has won quite a few races in the Japanese F4 Championship. They both share a strong bond between them and are often found training for races together.

Tsunoda has never failed to impress others on the grid and is a potential candidate to take on the Red Bull seat. With Daniel Ricciardo going on Red Bull probation, this might be the time for Yuki to shine. So far, he has managed to bring home some crucial points, but that may not be enough if he is looking to get into Red Bull for 2025.
