Lewis Hamilton is a megastar when it comes to the sports industry. His exploits as a 7-time Formula 1 World Champion are the stuff of legends. Often, to contemplate what Hamilton has achieved in this sport is hard for F1 fans. However, this predicament is faced by his brother Nicolas Hamilton, too.

Nicolas Hamilton is the younger brother of Lewis Hamilton. He has been struggling with cerebral palsy. However, he believes that the struggle Hamilton had to go through to establish himself in this sport was greater.

While speaking to Natalie Pinkham on her podcast In the Pinkhe spoke about this. He began by saying, “I’m his biggest fan.”

He then went on to explain why Hamilton‘s achievements in the sport are so astounding to him. “Being a poor black kid with actually not much going for him, to now be known as one of the most influential sporting athletes in the world, means so much to me.”.

He summed it all up by expressing his surprise at it all. “I still can’t believe he’s doing that because who are we to have this sort of effect on people? We’re just a normal family.”.

Nicolas himself is a racing driver. He currently competes in the British Touring Car Championship. Hamilton has himself admitted how he admires his brother for defying all the odds to carve out a successful racing career for himself.

Lewis Hamilton has established himself as one of the greatest racing drivers to ever grace the sport we know as F1. Having gone through that journey himself, he understands what it means for his younger brother Nicolas to become a racing driver; despite his cerebral palsy.

While talking to Graham Bensinger, Hamilton explained, “He was told he wouldn’t be able to drive, all these different things.”

He went on to express why he thinks his brother is just like him. “I think he loves defying what people say you can’t do and that’s exactly how I am, really.”
