Lewis Hamilton might have millions supporting him during a Grand Prix weekend, but the ones closest to the 7-time world champion who show the Mercedes driver the utmost support is his family.

The Knight is known to have a close relationship with his father, Anthony Hamilton. But not much is known about the British driver’s mother. An interesting piece of trivia about the 7-time world champion is that he has two mothers.

The Knight’s birth mother is Carmen Larbalestier who was born in 1955 and gave birth to Lewis in 1985. Larbalestier is white, while Anthony is dark-skinned, making the 7-time world champion mixed race.

Lewis was raised with half-sisters Nicola and Samantha by Carmen, who obtained custody of him when he was 12 years old. He then moved in with his father Anthony, stepmother Linda, and half-brother Nicolas.

Anthony had already been with Linda for two years, and she was actively involved in Lewis’s upbringing before he moved in with her. Linda was frequently seen at races with Anthony, even after he was fired as Lewis’ manager.

And she enjoyed a touching moment with Lewis at the Chinese Grand Prix in 2008 when she hugged him – together with his biological mother Carmen – after his triumph only weeks before clinching his maiden world title.

Lewis and Anthony even worked together until 2010 when both parted ways. But, nevertheless, Anthony still supports whether it is in front of the TV or being present during a Grand Prix weekend.

Now on the verge of rewriting history, Hamilton could win his eighth world title in Formula One; making his family even prouder of what he has achieved in the sport of F1.
