“Whispering Something Very Rude”: Daniel Ricciardo Exposed For Bizarre Antics With Interviewers In F1 Paddock

F1 will miss one of the jolliest personalities on the grid, and the aura and persona of Daniel Ricciardo. His 13-year stay in the F1 paddock will come to an end after the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi. However, the Australian is adamant to stay in F1 for many more years and isn’t willing to give up on his F1 dream.

Moreover, popular F1 reporter Nate Saunders reveals a shocking habit Daniel Ricciardo practices on the paddock, while interviewers are doing their job.

It wouldn’t be very Ricciardo-like if he just gave the interviews without pranking the reporter or saying something funny. Daniel Ricciardo is known for his humorous gestures and pranks on the grid. It is something apart from his driving that makes the Australian one of the most loved F1 drivers around the world.

In a podcast, the ESPN reporter exposed one of Daniel’s bizarre habits he likes to do with the interviewers. Nate Saunders said, “Let’s say we were talking now, we put our dictaphones in front of you and we’d interview. What he has the habit of doing is like, leaning into them, and whispering something very rude.”

He further added, “So when you start this, you can hear, so I didn’t know exactly what you can say. He once said “bull sacks”, and I said, nice okay I won’t transcribe that but you know he says it with a big smile on his face and stuff.”

Daniel enjoyed a special race in Mexico where he fought back and showed an old glimpse of himself. He’ll be hoping for more of the same in Brazil.

Daniel Ricciardo credits Netflix’s Drive to Survive series for changing the F1 fanbase

The Aussie might have endured a tough stint with McLaren, but he will be looking to end his tenure on a high. The Honey badger’s fanbase grew in great numbers due to Netflix’s Drive To Survive show. Furthermore, he credited the series for changing the fanbase of F1 massively.

Daniel said, “Massively. It really has changed, like, drastically since the series because it was a very, like, niche group of followers. F1 is some people’s life, [and] it’s the only sport they love and all they’re into.”

He further added, “It wasn’t very accessible for many years, and, especially because of even the simple fact we wear helmets – like you couldn’t really put a face to a name.”

The DTS has helped the sports following massively in the US. As a result, F1 will see a record 3 races being held in the country from next year.
