2020 was a weird year, as everyone in the world was locked in their homes under lockdown. All the sports, including Formula One, had to completely shut off during the pandemic. But the F1 drivers, such as Charles Leclerc, found ways to keep themselves entertained while in the confines of their house.

Leclerc started streaming on Twitch to interact with his fans during the lockdown. He played simulator F1 games and also many popular games such as Fortnite with his fans on the platform. One of his fans gave him a banana skin costume during the lockdown.

Why did Charles Leclerc wore the banana skin costume?

The Monegasque is a fan of the banana skin on the game Fortnite. So, one of his followers sent him a banana skin costume to his apartment in the middle of the pandemic.

Charles was super comfortable and wore the costume on the stream. He wore in front of millions of people watching him and was really happy with his gift.

The Ferrari driver was not a bit embarrassed by the situation and said, “Oh My God! I’ve never looked so good!” He spent the rest of the stream adjusting and fiddling with his costume and wore it throughout the stream, much to his fan’s surprise.

Just like Leclerc, several other drivers joined Twitch to keep themselves busy during the pandemic. George Russell, Lando Norris, and Alex Albon joined him and together they formed the Twitch Quartet.

We often saw them racing against each other and engaging in banter at each other’s expense. They even played F1 sim racing competition and battled against each other on the track.

They all did something crazy on the platform; Leclerc wore a banana costume, Norris shaved his head, Alex was interrupted by his cats, and Russell cracked jokes on the stream.

But sadly, the quartet returned to the racetrack in July 2020 and have not streamed together since. It would be nice to see them stream again in the winter break and keep us entertained during the off-season.
