You can’t keep George Russell out of the game. After joining Mercedes, The Brit has become the center of attention because of his on and off-track antics. Everybody is talking about the Mercedes driver, not only the fans but the F1 drivers as well. A while back, many drivers were found reacting to the ‘George Russell is a type of guy’ trend.

Here is all the fuss about. On social media, a meme about Russell started where everyone was to complete the following sentence “George Russell is the kind of guy…”. Many fans and drivers, including Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon, have joked about Russell, but the highlight was when Bottas contributed to the joke.
Daniel Ricciardo jokingly said, “Russell is the kind of guy who selfishly has two first names.” The Williams driver, Alex Albon, had his say, “He is the kind of guy to take his top off during security check in an airport.”
Valtteri Bottas had a heated moment with the Mercedes driver in 2021 at Imola Grand Prix. Bottas and George Russell collided in wet conditions when the latter tried to overtake in the grass. Post-race, the Brit was found blaming Bottas for the collision, although later apologized when he noticed his fault.

When asked to comment on the trend, the Alpha Romeo driver replied, “(George Russell is the kind of guy) Overtake in damn conditions at the end of the main straight in Imola.”
It seemed the question reopened his wounds.

The fans and drivers revealed how they all feel about the Mercedes Driver, but Lewis Hamilton has something really special to say about the future of the young Brit.
Lewis Hamilton believes George Russell has all the qualities
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have gelled well with each other. Former William’s driver came in as a replacement for Valtteri Bottas in 2022. The season has gone really well for Russell. He finished at podiums 7 times this season so far. Hamilton has praised the positive impact Russell brought to the team.
The seven-time world champion said, “I won’t say it’s been tough [being Russell’s team mate]; it’s been pleasant, we’ve worked together incredibly well. George has been super positive… had a positive impact on the work environment.”

Lewis talked about the experience he is having with Russell and believes the former Williams driver has all the qualities needed to take the team forward.
He said, “I definitely see that he’s got so much potential in him [to be a world champion] and he’s in the right place for it as well.”
