Long before Max Verstappen picked up his first-ever F1 world title in Abu Dhabi, he had the chance to meet the one and only Thor, the God of Thunder. The Dutchman not only got to meet him but also play games with him and engaged in banter during Chris Hemsworth’s visit to the Singapore Grand Prix in 2019.

Celebrities coming up to meet with the F1 drivers and attending the glamorous Grand Prix is a very common scene lately. As the Dutchman met with the $130 million worth Hammer man, the duo shared some good times with each other. Verstappen recorded the moments in a video that surfaced and resurfaced on the internet years on multiple occasions.

As in the video, Verstappen started off with, “Alright guys, we’re here in Singapore, together with Chris and his twin brother, right?” To which Hemsworth replied, “My younger brother.” by pointing toward the advertisement where Hemsworth’s face was visible.

After this, Verstappen asked, “Who looks better?” and the Australian actor answered, “That’s him, my brother.” As the duo shared some laughter, the Red Bull star followed up with, “Any way we did some pit-stop challenge…” to which Hemsworth asked back, “Who won?” Verstappen further stated, “You won for the camera and I just won for the fans.

Moreover, the mega movie star also wished the very best to the Red Bull driver for the race. Hemsworth stated,Alright guys, it’s it. Won a few challenges, good fight, had fun, and Max good luck [on] Sunday mate.”

Thank you very much, will try to get a good result,” replied the Red Bull ace. “I’ll be watching too, mate“. With this, the Marvel star concluded the Red Bull and Max Verstappen glitz night in Singapore in 2019.

However, Chris Hemsworth’s wish didn’t fully go down in vain as the 25-year-old picked up a podium in the Marina Bay Street race. Verstappen finished Saturday’s qualification in P4 behind Leclerc, Hamilton, and Vettel and was half a second behind the pole-sitter.

Despite starting the race in P4, Verstappen leapfrogged Lewis Hamilton to finish in P3 behind the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. This result in Singapore helped the Dutchman to keep his place in P3 in the driver’s championship when the season ended in 2019.
