In 2020, if not for the time penalty, Lewis Hamilton would have equaled Michael Schumacher’s 91 victory record. However, Valtteri Bottas took home the checkered flag at Sochi, and even before he could go out and celebrate the win, the team became a no-show. Fast forward to a few years, Hamilton felt the same kind of abandonment at the parc ferme in the 2023 Australian GP. This saw fans call him out for firing his number-one cheerleader.

Post the Bahrain GP, Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram to announce that Angela Cullen is now moving on in pursuit of other adventures. This has now put the man on a lonesome journey up ahead after seven years of partnership. He has even admitted to becoming a better person and athlete because of her.

The Kiwi assistant used to be the first in line cheering for the 7x champion. On one occasion, she even jumped in the river, upholding a podium bet in 2022. However, her absence has now proved to be a gaping hole in the man’s aura and fans were quick to point that.

Fans missing Angela Cullen accuse Lewis Hamilton of firing his number-one cheerleader

While the Briton has spent 2 races post the Angela separation, his podium aspirations only manifested at Albert Park when he scored a P2. It was his 192nd podium in F1. Even though the likes of surfing legend Kelly Slater made up the crowd congratulating Lewis Hamilton at parc ferme, his team was absent.

In an Instagram story uploaded by Slater, Lewis Hamilton can be seen asking “Where the f**k is my team?” The video clip which is already making the rounds on the internet now has F1 Twitter furiously calling out the team and questioning their behavior. Take a look at a few comments from there:

One user seemed to attribute Mercedes’ temporary absence to the idea that they may have wanted George Russell ahead of the seven-time world champion. The Mercedes youngster, unfortunately, suffered an engine blowup and retired from the Australian GP on lap 17.
