Throughout his career, Hamilton has used Mercedes’s power to capture World Championships and victories. The Briton is a part of the most successful team in F1 right now and has no logical reason to switch. Yet, many fans and experts constantly advise him to switch to Ferrari. Winning in F1 is one thing but winning while donning the red suit is an achievement on its own.

But Hamilton believes Mercedes does one thing better than Ferrari. According to the reigning Champion, Mercedes honors a legacy and recognizes a driver’s contributions to the team forever. Hamilton cited Sir Stirling Moss as an example, who Mercedes honored with a touching tribute following his death a few weeks back.

Martin Brundle quizzed Hamilton on doing a “Schumacher” and winning with Ferrari, to which Lewis replied:
“I think that’s like a short-term kind of thing”

“If you look at all drivers that have driven for Ferrari, obviously its an incredible team, the car’s always beautiful”

“if you look at even just Stirling Moss, was still part of the team, they honor that legacy and you become a part of that legacy”

“and a lifelong partner which I think I think is super appealing”

“And the impact that we’re having on our footprint, we’re working very closely to be the carbon-neutral team with Mercedes by 2039”

Hamilton is environmentally conscious and even sold his private jet in a bid to reduce his Carbon footprint. The Brit is also a vegan and often voices out against animal cruelty. With future aspirations aligning, Hamilton and Mercedes needn’t split.
