Ferrari escaped a late surge from Mercedes to finish P2 in the constructor’s championship. Moreover, their star driver Charles Leclerc also held his nerve to finish P2 in WDC under tremendous pressure. The double achievements of the team will certainly inspire them to focus and challenge Red Bull for the title next season.
But Mattia Binotto has been under the firing line for much of the season. Moreover, his stubborn stance of defending his strategic team, despite them making many errors over the course of this year, didn’t sit well with a lot of fans and pundits. Consequently, there were a lot of rumors surrounding his future at the Maranello-based team.
While there has not been any word from Ferrari regarding the same, multiple reports are now claiming that Binotto is set to resign from his post. According to Corriere Della Sera, Mattia Binotto is leaving Ferrari. The official confirmation is just a matter of time.
The Italian daily newspaper also claimed that Binotto had come to the conclusion that he should not continue at Ferrari because he did not feel he had the full trust of president John Elkann.
Now, Alfa Romeo team principal Frédéric Vasseur is tipped to replace the Italian, if he leaves.

the only thing i'm gonna say about this Binotto Out situation is that Binotto shouldn't have become team principal in the first place, he should've stuck to his engineering role. i'm not gonna regret him as TP if he resigns, but i am gonna miss his brilliant mind as an engineer

Moreover, other fans also took sarcastic jibes at the Maranello-based team.
