First released on March 2019, Drive to Survive will release its fifth edition in 2023, showcasing the unseen footage of the 2022 season. Netflix will add to the month of February for Formula 1 fans right when the constructors will reveal their 2023 car. One would assume such an announcement will excite the traveling circus’s fandom.
However, because of Netflix’s own doing, the DTS season 5 announcement is getting a lot of negative reactions. The creators of the show put together a masterpiece initially. However, of late, the show has shifted its focus more to drama rather than racing, which has affected the show’s likeability.
In fact, fans even accused the DTS of creating fake scenarios and inventing drama to make the show more appealing to the audience. This even led to Max Verstappen boycotting the show for the majority of season 4.
Going by the fans’ reactions, many people might follow in Verstappen’s footsteps for the upcoming season.

Many fans don’t have high expectations from the show this season, walking on the same path as Verstappen.
Let’s not. You created a fun show, but you’re greedy, so now show is bunch of falsehoods.
Which you could do a fictional show, then at least you’d have more integrity than now where you pretend & tell audience it’s reality when it’s absolutely not. #F1 #DriveToLie

If they are over dramatising everything then they better make the Piastri saga episode good at least

I have no faith in this being good, season 1 was a banger the rest have been so bad. The teams have copped onto it and play up to the cameras.
