Lewis Hamilton is having a tough season by his lofty standards. Clearly, the Mercedes driver doesn’t have a competitive car to fight for the championship and win races, and it is affecting Hamilton’s morale and mentality. It is also splitting the F1 community into two halves. One half is supporting the Brit, while the other thinks Hamilton is just faking the depression.
The Mercedes W13 is struggling with significant porpoising, which is affecting the car’s performance. Lewis Hamilton has finished on the podium only once and that too when the Red Bull drivers retired in the Bahrain GP. And the best the Englishman could finish was the P4 in Australia, where he redeemed for the poor Saudi Arabian GP.

F1 Reporters on Lewis Hamilton’s situation in 2022
In every race, the seven-time world champion talked about the poor W13 and how much disappointing it is to him. But F1 reporter Jack Plooij believes Hamilton being disappointed about the car is an act and his sadness is nothing more than crocodile tears. Plooij said, “He is completely in depression, he says. What a bullshit man, stop it. If that was the case, he should have said that sooner.”
However, Plooij’s fellow reporter Olav Mol doesn’t agree with Plooij. Instead, Olav understands Hamilton’s situation and supports the Mercedes driver. Olav reported, “Jack and I differ on this because I think that every sportsman experiences this in his career. You have to get a little older before you can talk about that.”
