One of the biggest perks of being an F1 driver is not just the honor of driving the fastest cars on the track, but also off it. Some of the big manufacturers like Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, and Renault gift their drivers road-cars as part of their association with the team. Naturally, the likes of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo will drive around with company cars in 2021.
Lando Norris has been part of the McLaren team since 2019. The then-teenager got his hands on a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 McLaren 570S Coupe. The eye-catching car costs £150,000. But it is worth it as it has a 570 HP engine, which is capable of having a top speed in excess of 200KM/Hr.

On the other hand, Daniel Ricciardo joined the team recently and he must have been looking forward to the free car. He got his hands on a McLaren 765LT and flaunted it on social media. The beast costs a whopping $600,000.
“First date: nervous but excited,” the Aussie captioned his post.
“We hope you love it as much as we do,” the McLaren auto team replied.

Daniel Ricciardo has eyes on Zak Brown’s McLaren cars
The former Red Bull driver is fond of wagers, having won a tattoo bet against Cyril Abiteboul. However, when it comes to team boss Zak Brown, he is eyeing one of his road cars.
“Only a couple of hours ago we were having some lunch with Zak and he mentioned something about him hating needles. So I can’t see the tattoo thing happening with Zak but we’ll think of something else.
I know he’s got a pretty good car collection, so maybe we could just bet for one of his cars or something,” said Ricciardo.

Ricciardo bought himself a McLaren road car when he entered Formula 1
At the official launch of their 2021 challenger, he made a startling revelation, “One of the gifts that I bought myself once I was in F1. And had enough of money to buy a pair of jeans, the first kind of real gift that I got was a McLaren road car.”
We can safely say that the drivers are pleased with their free company cars. Perhaps, it is just fuel to motivate them and get their best on the track.
