The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is a memorable one in many senses. The streets of Baku opened their arms to the world of speeding in 2017 and interestingly, there hasn’t ever been a repeat winner. However, the reigning champions Red Bull have claimed the circuit three out of five times. And as we approach the fun-filled streets again, RB decided to bask in the glory but instead, fans decided to pick on them, reminding the team of the horror show that unfolded in 2018.

In 2018, Daniel Ricciardo returned to the streets where he pulled off a triple overtake on Lance Stroll, Felipe Massa, and Nico Hulkenberg the previous year to claim the victory of an extremely eventful race. And with the young Max Verstappen as his teammate, things were bound to get saucy. A lap 40 collision that saw both Red Bulls bow out of the race is perhaps the most disappointing instance at Milton Keynes.

An angry Christian Horner stormed out of the track and subsequently, the duo was given an interesting punishment of a factory visit to apologize to people who work so hard every day. Fast forward to 2021 and 2022, the team claimed the streets again. The official social media handle of Red Bull Racing has now decided to share celebratory pictures of Ricciardo, Verstappen, and Sergio Perez from when they claimed the streets.

Fans remind Red Bull of the year when they didn’t win the race after the Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo incident

As fate has now put Red Bull’s all three Baku winners in the same place again, it was only fitting that they are celebrated before we go racing again. However, 2018 will always be a reminder of how bad things can go and perhaps pile up a bill of almost a million dollars. F1 Twitter was quick to remind the champion team that things can go south even if there is a little friction between the teammates.
