The Red Bull Management has been on the controversial side of things a few times. They have been ruthless with their secondary drivers if and when they don’t perform up to the mark. But Christian Horner’s recent comments show how their ruthlessness is not just limited to the drivers.

Recently, McLaren made headlines when they announced that Red Bull’s Chief Engineering Officer, Rob Marshall, will be joining McLaren. He will begin working with them in 2024, as their Technical Director, Engineering and Design. The news comes in a quick succession of David Sanchez joining McLaren as the new Technical Director, replacing James Key, who joins Alfa Romeo.

Marshall has worked with Red Bull for 17 years and has tasted success multiple times. But Christian Horner had an off-key response when asked about the departure of Marshall. He said, as quoted by Motorsport.com, “Over recent years, he’s moved on to other projects, and hasn’t been on the mainstream of F1. And after 17 years, he had a significant offer from McLaren.” He further added, saying, “Usually when somebody leaves the team, we tell them to f**k off.”

Stella plans on sticking to the Mercedes PU that is currently being used by McLaren. About the Red Bull PU, He said, “I can confirm there is no link. So we had conversations with Red Bull a few months ago, as part of the due diligence in exploring what’s available in the market in terms of a power unit for 2026. But at the moment, we are quite advanced in our negotiations with HPP. So there’s no conversation ongoing with Red Bull.”
