Monaco just keeps on inflicting pain on its hometown Hero year after year. A clean Monaco weekend for Charles Leclerc is unheard of. Charles Leclerc has had a rollercoaster of Monaco GP till now. In all these previous years, one thing or another has prevented Charles Leclerc from winning the Monaco GP infamously known as the Monaco Curse. Be it F1 or F2, the home soil has always been troublesome for the Monegasque. Leclerc looked set to challenge for the pole with Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso being the contenders. Leclerc did set the provisional pole but then Alonso pipped him by just 0.02 seconds and then Verstappen put it on the pole by 0.08 seconds. 

While P3 was not a bad position to start in. But as the curse would have it, Charles Leclerc was given a 3-place grid penalty. This means he will start P6. Monaco is the hardest track to pass on, the possibility of a podium looks very slim. Leclerc was handed the penalty for impeding Lando Norris’ fast lap in Q3 which saw the Briton finish down in P10. Nevertheless, with unpredictable weather forecasts for the main race, anything can happen.

I will do my best to come back to the podium we deserve.❤️” A screenshot of the post was shared on Twitter by @Vettelleclerc highlighting the “To come back to the podium we deserve” part with a 🥹 emoji attached to it. The highlighted part and emoji suggest that the eyes of the Tifosi have filled with tears after looking at how motivated and determined Leclerc still is despite the penalty.
