Amid all this, Hamilton was recently asked a Bizarre question that involved “hook up”. However, this question was not about his relationship with Shakira, but about someone else. What was the question and what was the intended meaning behind it?

The “Wherever, Whenever” singer seems to be following Lewis Hamilton around the F1 circuit. First seen in Miami, Shakira was spotted at the Spanish GP, after which Lewis Hamilton was spotted with his hand around the Latina’s waist at a dinner in Barcelona. Many sources suggest that the duo are having fun and have been flirting lately. A source even claimed that the duo were seen kissing and cuddling during the Spanish GP weekend. 

Amid this flirty relationship, Tom Clarkson asked Lewis Hamilton a bizarre question during Thursday’s Press conference when talking about his contract situation. Tom Clarkson asked Lewis Hamilton, “You were hoping to hook up with Toto Wolff after the race to talk about your future with the team.” Stunned by the question, Hamilton quickly replied, “We have never hooked up.”

To cover up his mistake, Clarkson quickly corrected himself asking whether Hamilton met up with Toto Wolff and asked if they met over Pizza because that’s what they usually do. To Clarkson’s further embarrassment, Hamilton suggested that they never had Pizza and finished by advising that he met with Toto and talked about the contract.

The way Tom Clarkson framed the question was very questionable. Nevertheless, the latest rumors revealed a condition put by Lewis Hamilton on his contract.

Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff have been suggesting for over a week that the contract is almost there with only some details needing to be finalized. However, a source suggested that a very major detail still hangs in the balance. Lewis Hamilton wants a 5 years contract extension from Mercedes, which will see him drive for the team till the end of 2028. The contract is speculated to be worth $319,000,000. Also, George Russell doesn’t seem to be the happiest with Hamilton’s demands.

According to Daily Mail, a source revealed, “Lewis [Hamilton] wants five years, and if it were just a one-year extension I don’t think he’d accept it. They may need to reach a compromise because, while George [Russell] has probably made peace with the idea of Lewis being around for a couple of years, he might not accept being in the shadow of his team-mate for the long-term.”
