The F1 season of 2022 comes to an end with one last race to go. Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel is all geared up to move on from the F1 grid. Retiring as the wholesome individual that Vettel has been in F1, many are sad about watching him go.
Ahead of his last dance, Sebastian Vettel appeared on ‘Beyond the Grid’ podcast where he delved into his life, racing, and everything in between. Vettel touched on the subject of his support system and touched the hearts of many.

In the interview, Sebastian was asked who his one main person was, the one who he owes all of his success to, the one without whom this success wouldn’t be the same. And without a single beat, Vettel spoke of his wife.
He said, “Yeah, I think my wife. The sort of strength she gave me through all that time. We’ve been together forever, since I left school and she left school. So yeah. That’s probably the correct answer. And the fair and the right answer.”
Explaining the role she plays in his life, he said, “Also, because you know, Formula 1 life is very intense. We have a busy schedule, lot of races, lots of things to do. I think it’s very consuming mentally. But to love another person so much, to you know, to put yourself second in a way, and give all the support for such a long time. “
Vettel showed immense appreciation for his wife while stating that his love for her is beyond measure. He also touched upon how he might not have reached so far in his career if it wasn’t for her.
Vettel further talked about how his wife has helped him every time he needed it.

The podcast host nudged the champion to shed light on how his wife, Hanna Prater, supported him and in what ways was she there for him.
To this, Vettel said, “She’s always been there. We obviously talk a lot to each other and about everything. It’s all those moments that are not glorious. All those moments you’d think that are not important.”

“But, there’s a lot of them and they do matter. so she kept me sane, looked after me and gave me the support so I never felt alone. If you see what I mean, and felt loved,” he said in conclusion.
Vettel said that feeling loved was important to him. He emphasized that support isn’t just evaluated with simple gestures of a single action of bringing some chocolate or uplifting your mood with the right words. Even though these gestures make a big part of the process, he exclaimed, ‘there is more to it.’
