There is a general feeling that F1 has become all about Mercedes winning titles. The rest of the teams, including Ferrari, are trying to stay in the hunt, picking up podiums and points here and there.
Among others, we always expect the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari to contend and make the defending champions work hard for their glory. However, Charles Leclerc believes it is not possible for the Scuderia to start doing so immediately.
The Ferrari driver is quoted as saying, “Now I know that in Formula 1 you have to have patience. And that is what we are showing this year.”

Ferrari will not straightaway go to P1, says Leclerc
Naturally, the Italian giants have such a rich history that people will expect a lot from them. However, Leclerc has said that the team is continuing its path of development with small, gradual steps.
Leclerc continues to state, “We have had a lot of pressure from outside and sure, people expect us to come with a completely new package and go straightaway to P1. But this won’t happen.”
“We came with small steps all the time and I have understood that. I am trying to push the team to keep working like this.” concluded Leclerc.
The Monegasque driver has obviously become the lead driver now for the team. Ferrari have immense faith in his inputs and feedback, which has partly led to the latest set of upgrades.

The previous decade was fully dominated by Red Bull first, and Mercedes later. It means that the last time Ferrari won a championship was the Constructors’ title back in 2008.
At present, they are having to struggle and fight their way through an intense midfield battle, which is already packed with teams like Racing Point, Renault, and McLaren.
The frustration among Ferrari F1 fans is quite evident now. They are running out of patience. The only way to solve that is with a positive direction by the team going forward.
