Britain has an illustrious history of Formula 1 drivers and has produced several champions. Sir Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Jenson Button, and of course, Lewis Hamilton, to name a few.
2020 proved to be a good year for British drivers in F1. While Lando Norris helped McLaren finish in P3 of the constructors’ championship, Lewis Hamilton won his seventh world title. George Russell also proved to be one of the most impressive drivers of 2020.
Lewis Hamilton has dominated Formula 1 during the hybrid era; he will leave the sport as the most successful driver in the sport’s history.

After Lewis, Lando Norris is confident that he and his fellow Briton driver Russell can keep the legacy of successful British drivers in Formula 1 alive.
“I don’t often believe in myself but I want to believe that in the future years we can lead the way in some ways, not just within Formula 1 but for the UK, for our country. Lewis has set a great example for that. I think there’s a lot of things we need to follow that he’s set a very good example of.
“We’ll see. It’s a big burden. He’s a very good figure and a great person. Lewis is a great guy for both myself and George to look up to,” he further added.
