Formula 1  is going through somewhat of a transitional phase at the moment. The 2022 regulation overhaul kick-started it. However, in 2024, another regulation change shall come in, that coupled with the 2026 engine regulations, will change the spectrum of F1 racing completely. And Max Verstappen is alarmed.

Formula 1 and the FIA have devised a regulation change for 2024. Currently, F1 tires are kept under tire blankets that warm the tires up. This means that out of the box, the tires aren’t completely cold and have some grip. But from 2024 onwards, this is going to be banned altogether.

He explained, “It’s tough. Your tire degradation is going to be completely different because your tires are very cold, you’re sliding around a lot in the first few laps, your tire pressures are going to go through the roof, so your tires are going to deg a lot more.”
