Now, after over a week, the heat isn’t subsiding anytime soon, with the Red Bull driver opting to stick by his judgment. Despite having the phone call with the Mercedes driver and clearing the air between the duo, Verstappen reckoned that the Brackley outfit’s post-race festivities were “disrespectful“.
Verstappen’s view of Hamilton’s celebrations at British GP
As reported by Autosport, Verstappen revealed why he had been grading Mercedes’ actions as disrespectful. “If you mean with disrespectful when one guy is in the hospital and the other one is waving the flag around like nothing has happened, while you pushed the guy into the wall at 51G,” he said.
“And not only that, just the whole reaction of the team besides that, I think.”
Hamilton did pay the price for his actions on the track; the stewards imposed a 10-second time penalty on the Mercedes driver.

That’s not how you celebrate: Verstappen
The Dutchman laid a controversial statement against his rival team, Mercedes. He hinted that it was an undeserving win for the Silver Arrows at Hamilton’s home soil.
“That’s not how you celebrate the win. Especially a win how they got it,” he said. “That’s not how you celebrate the win. Especially a win how they got it.
“And in a way I mean it shows how they really are, you know. It comes out after a pressured situation. But I wouldn’t want to be seen like that.”
