F1 will finally race in Las Vegas after a gap of about 40 years away from the city. The sport will host a Saturday night race in the 2023 season to welcome the global entertainment capital of the world back to the calendar. With F1 going back to Las Vegas, no driver would be as excited as Daniel Ricciardo.

The Australian driver is a big fan of the city and has previously stated his wish to race there. In a throwback video of the 2017 Australian Grand Prix, he made his intentions clear about what he expects from the new owners of Liberty media.

“Race in Vegas. I’ve said mine,” said Daniel. Interestingly, Hamilton, who was sitting right beside him, revealed that he wishes F1 will race in Miami in the future. Both drivers got their wishes granted by the sport as F1 will race in Miami this season and will go to Vegas in 2023.
But before heading to Vegas next season, Daniel would hope that he will get a more competitive car by then. This season, McLaren have been struggling with their performance in the first 2 races. But the Australian driver was hopeful that in his home race next week, they will be competitive.

F1 is returning to Australia after a gap of 2 years and will race after a gap of 3 years. The Albert Park track in Melbourne has seen some changes since the last race in 2019.

The track has been resurfaced and will have more fast-flowing sections that will suit Ricciardo and McLaren in 2022.
“I’m excited to go home and compete there and for now we will just keep chipping away. We can’t promise amazing results yet, but we are going to keep at it. I am sure some better things are on the horizon,” said Daniel.

The Aussie driver showed some signs of improvement at the recently concluded Saudi Arabian GP. The new track layout in Melbourne may suit McLaren and Ricciardo this season. But it is too hard to predict how he will fare at his home Grand Prix as he has previously struggled in Melbourne.
