There is no denying that Lewis Hamilton is one of the well-known athletes around the United States. And the 7-time world champion even had former NBA star, Chris Bosh, joining the paddock to support him over the F1 race at Circuit of The Americas.
Well, that’s not it! NBA wasn’t the only sport that attracted Hamilton’s immense racing talent, but also Tennis. Record-breaking grand slam winner, Serena Williams, along with American fashion model, Karlie Kloss, too cheered on Hamilton at the US Grand Prix.

Serena posted a story on Instagram, a video starring herself and Kloss traveling in a buggy, as the former screamed, “Go Lewis!”
The Sunday afternoon at COTA was certainly a celebrity-fest with many well-known faces showing up to the highly electric race. Apart from Serena and two-time Miami Heat champion, Chris, another former NBA star, Shaquille O’Neal was part of the podium ceremony.

Then, from Hollywood arrived actor/director, Ben Stiller, famously known for his lead role in the ‘Night at the Museum’ film series.
Lewis Hamilton fails to live up to the expectations
Indeed when the Briton walked into the race weekend in Austin, there were massive expectations falling on him. However, as the weekend progressed, Red Bull started showing signs of a resurgence. And, it was crucially Max Verstappen, who took pole.
Hence, it looked like the only task for Hamilton was to snatch the lead at the start of the race, which he executed with perfection. But, little did Mercedes know that Red Bull were going to pull off what certainly ended up being one of the most aggressive strategies of the race.

Verstappen attempted the undercut over both of his pit stops, while Hamilton chose to play catch up. It all boiled down to the final 15 laps, as Hamilton had just fitted a new set of hard tires as opposed to Verstappen’s 8 laps older tires.
9 seconds behind, and the chances were that Hamilton was going to beat the Dutchman. Most parts of his execution were perfect, with the Briton safely cruising his Mercedes within 2 seconds off Verstappen with more than 3 laps to go.

However, as he got closer, the turbulent air disrupted Hamilton’s rhythm, who was forced to make tiny yet costly enough mistakes. And that ended his hopes of retaking the lead in the race and consequently in the championship too. Now, the action shifts to Mexico where Hamilton will fall under a must-win situation. But, will he?
