Talk about having no luck whatsoever, poor Sebastian Vettel just cannot catch a break. He had a nightmare of a qualifying session yesterday, thanks in no small amount to the traffic on the track. But today only got a whole lot worse with his second DNF of the season.

Having started the race in P17 (his worst starting position at Monza in 14 races), Vettel didn’t have any pace whatsoever. However, things got worse soon thereafter.

At the start of the sixth lap, under pressure from George Russell going into the Variante del Rettifilo, Vettel completely lost his brakes.

Brakes failed, brakes failed,” said a dejected Vettel on the team radio. He went on to explain what happened, “No more brake pedal. Brake line exploded. I can literally not stop the car, so I have to wait.

As a result, he went straight through the safety barriers and then had to go on a slow crawl all the way back to the pits. Nobody expected Vettel to get any points today, but a DNF just adds salt to the wounds.

Just how much worse can 2020 get for the 4-time World Champion? Just how many heartbreaks can he and the Tifosi take?

We all expected some drama at Monza, but not quite to this extent. Thankfully, the Tifosi are not present at the track lest there would have been a mass heart attack.

But suddenly, the race has just been completely thrown open. With multiple yellow flags now followed by a restart, the grid order is all over the place. We are set for one hell of a race ahead.
