Sebastian Vettel is known for giving names to his cars. His last car at Ferrari for the 2020 F1 season was called, “Lucilla”. Now, he has ventured on a new chapter with Aston Martin and has given a “Bond girl” name to his car, i.e. Honey Ryder.
However, things didn’t get off to a great start with the Silverstone-based team, as Vettel had a grid penalty for not following the yellow flags in the qualifying session. Hence, had to start from last on the grid. Furthermore, he earned a 10-second penalty as he crashed into Alpine’s Esteban Ocon.
The German will have high hopes of having a much better outing at the Italian Grand Prix at Imola. He will look to redeem himself and score some points for his new team.

Sebastian Vettel has detailed the name inside the car
In a video uploaded by Aston Martin, you could see that Vettel had “Honey Ryder” placed inside the cockpit of the car. While speaking to Ted Kravitz on Sky Sports as quoted by PlanetF1, he said, “Honey Ryder. It’s the first of its kind, so a new story. We thought it was a good one.”
“Favourite movie? Favourite Bond? I think Sean Connery and, to be fair, Pierce Brosnan. That’s my youth but yeah, Sean Connery. I think just very good style. And which movie? I quite like the first one. It kicked it off, obviously because of Honey Ryder.” Vettel concluded.

He said, “It’s very, very early to say that. We only have one data point, one race. Yeah, it wasn’t the best race but if you look at the positives, he had to start last, he was running in the top 10 for a while, [and he] felt good in the car.”
Szafnauer added, “Just from watching him from the pit wall, looking at his lap times- and his lap times were not that dissimilar to Lance [Stroll] who has been driving here for a while, [he] knows us well, [he] knows the car well.”
