The 2022 season comes with a major overhaul in the regulations, the biggest one since 1983. This obviously has given rise to a lot of uncertainty, which has just added to the excitement of the fans. Aston Martin has seen a tremendous rise in the last few years, establishing itself as one of the stronger midfield teams. This season they will look forward to flying higher than ever.
During the 2021 season, the team successfully scored two podium finishes, one of which got scrapped due to fuel irregularities. Team owner Lawrence Stroll is leaving no stones unturned to take his team to the top. Andy Green, Chief Technical Officer at the Aston Martin team, gave the reasoning for this early showdown. In an interview reported the day before AMR22 took on Silverstone, he said, “We’re shaking down tomorrow and really what we wanted to do is shakedown as early as possible to check the systems out on the car and give us some time between shakedown and the Barcelona test.
“So that is the reason for shaking down tomorrow, so we have time to react. Hopefully, we’ll have a good shakedown tomorrow and there’s nothing to react to,” added Green.
Now, after some changes at the top, the team is going into this thrilling season with high optimism; Mick Krack has replaced Otmar Szafnauer in the team as team principal.
