The United States Grand Prix is finally here with the intense qualifying underway. However, just like any other quali session we have had so far this season, it wasn’t without drama. This time it was an incident involving Sebastian Vettel and Haas rookie Nikita Mazepin.
Most drivers look forward to the quali session as it allows them to push the car to the limit. However, as the twenty drivers zip around the track, they are bound to get in each other’s way further frustrating the driver.

When the quali session gets underway, drivers are hoping to set a lap time that will get them into the second round. However, that could be challenging as the other drivers are aiming to do the same. Hence, it quite often happens that a driver can jeopardize the other one’s lap time.
This time it was Mazepin who managed to annoy 4-times world champion, Vettel. The German driver wasn’t happy with Mazepin’s driving at the Circuit of the Americas, which made him come on the team radio and say, “What a d**kh**d. I mean seriously, what a d**kh**d.”

How did Vettel do in the practice sessions in Austin?
As Vettel turned up to the Circut of the Americas, he was hoping to hit the ground running. However, it was quite the opposite of what Sebastian was aiming for.
In FP1, the German driver couldn’t crack the top-10 and had to settle for fourteenth place on the timesheet. While in FP2, things didn’t improve for the 4-times world champion as he fell down to fifteenth on the timesheet.
But in the final practice session, there was hope for the Aston Martin driver, as he improved on his time, and found himself in eleventh place.
With a few hours to go for the lights to go out at the United States Grand Prix, what is your prediction for the German driver as he zips around the American track? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
