The rivalry between the two former Ferrari drivers is not unknown to the F1 fans. Who can forget those great battles between Vettel and Alonso when they used to drive for Red Bull and Ferrari? But after Alonso’s retirement from F1 after 2019, every fan thought that was the last time when they witnessed Vettel-Alonso battles.

However, the Spaniard returned to the sport last season and joined Alpine. Meanwhile, the four-time world champion joined Aston Martin. Fans were thrilled as they got to see those infamous battle ones again. Even in 2022, fans are getting to witness the battle of two world champions.

Recently at the Emilia Romagna GP, Vettel and Alonso were fighting in the midfield. The Spaniard overtook the German, but the former Red Bull driver soon took back the position from the Alpine driver. However, that was the last battle between the two in Imola. Because the Alpine A522’s damaged sidepod forced Alonso to retire.

After the race, Vettel shared his joy to even finish eighth with his car, which is not the fastest on the grid. Vettel said, “It’s like a victory.
