Why is Pierre Gasly smiling alongside Helmut Marko and Sergio Perez? Especially when the Red Bull seat fiasco ended with Marko and Co. shutting the doors on Gasly till at least 2024. With only AlphaTauri left as his appropriate option to maintain ties with Red Bull, Gasly’s decision-making will be very important by this year’s end.

Many fans and the F1 fraternity want Gasly to look for options outside the Red Bull family. Several are of the opinion that he has wasted too much time waiting for the seat, and deserves a better car. Moreover, his year with the Italian outfit (AlphaTauri) has not been the best, with the latest points only coming in Baku.
In a recent video and a few pictures, we can see Marko sitting with Gasly. It seems Marko makes the Frenchman sign some papers and keeps them back in his bag. Further, a few pictures also show him smiling alongside Sergio Perez and Gasly for reasons unknown. Strikingly, Perez is the driver who blocked Gasly’s chance after signing a new contract with the team.
Many thought that the 26-year-old might get another shot at the seat by the end of the year. However, Perez has been the perfect replacement at Red Bull and has assisted Max Verstappen rather brilliantly. He has been the missing piece of Red Bull’s big problem puzzle, as they now dominate F1 and lead 1-2.
Understandably, the Austrian team decided to move ahead with the Mexican. Remarkably, Perez himself has become a title contender after presenting brilliant performances this season.

Amidst all these rumors and talks, fans want Gasly to move to McLaren. The Woking outfit has struggled with their driver Daniel Ricciardo and even openly criticized him, causing many speculations. The team even clarified that the car is not gelling well with Ricciardo’s driving style.
Though the Australian managed a point finish in Baku, team tensions were visible on the radio. Gasly might turn this Ricciardo opportunity in his favor, only to move up the ranks later on. The disadvantages are many as the Frenchman will leave his familiar Red Bull environment and might never come back.
