The much-awaited Christmas content has arrived from Red Bull Racing starring their two cheerful drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. On the eve of Christmas, the duo took part in a video where they exchanged cheeky, smart, and most importantly, hilarious gifts with each other.

Perez somehow managed to steal the show with his absolutely priceless gift to Verstappen – a spyglass! One might wonder, how is that priceless? Well, there’s a backstory to it. Let’s travel back in time to the 2021 Brazilian GP where Verstappen tried to spy on the Mercedes rear wing driven by Lewis Hamilton.

It was all good until he laid his finger on the car itself which the stewards noted and eventually imposed a hefty €50,000 fine on the Red Bull driver. By touching a rival’s car, Verstappen breached the parc ferme rules, hence, the Dutchman had no other option but to accept the punishment.

Sergio Perez plays smart with his gift to Max Verstappen

During the video, Perez added a description of his gift to Verstappen through a note which the latter opened and read.

My next gift to you is not so much an item itself but how much this item is going to save you money in the long run. I know you like to inspect your rival setups but it can be expensive if you touch their car. So, please use this gift to spy in the future and it might save you some cash,” Verstappen read.

Perez further went on to reckon that this gift could save him a lot of money. “This will save you a lot of cash man. So, you can come with it to all the races from now on. You can put it in your car. So, when you finish qualifying, you can take it out,” the Mexican said.

Verstappen unwrapped the gift, and what he found was a spyglass which led him to burst into laughter. He further joked, “I see a flexible rear wing there. Hello! This is really good.

This is definitely one of the best Christmas gifts Verstappen could get. And one wouldn’t be as shocked if they end up witnessing the 2021 world champion bringing the spyglass to races next year.
