The bromance between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez seems to be heating up ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix. In a fun little video that is doing the rounds of the internet, Max Verstappen repeats the words he said to his teammate after he helped him immensely in winning his 1st world title. The crowd present at the show roars as they hear Max speak.

Sergio Perez is revered in his home country Mexico. And with the next race set to take place in Mexico City, there will undoubtedly be a wave of supporters cheering him on. Get ready to witness the Red Bull colors all over Mexico over the coming weekend.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez’s budding bromance

Max Verstappen would not have won his 1st World Drivers’ Championship title had it not been for Sergio Perez. In the controversial race in Abu Dhabi, Lewis Hamilton had a dream start and led the race. Verstappen did not have the best of starts, but his teammate did.

Perez soon overtook the 7-time world champion and kept backing him until Verstappen kept on gaining behind. Once he was close enough, he gave his teammate the much-needed slipstream and let him fight his own battle thereon.

A thankful Verstappen let out an “oh, Checo is a legend” on the team radio. His race engineer responded, “absolute animal.” To this day, Max is thankful to his teammate. One could see that in a recent YouTube video uploaded by Telcel where the two Red Bull mates are playing a game where one has his ears covered with thick headphones and has to guess what the other said.

Max knew exactly what to say to make the moment special. He said, “Checo is a legend.” The crowd cheered wildly and went even louder when Checo guessed it right with a wide smile on his face.

The Red Bull camp is ecstatic after winning the Constructors’ Championship last weekend at the US GP. The double title-winning season last came in the year 2013 for them.

In the same Meet the Fans event, the host asked Max which celebrity Checo looked like, to which he answered Tom Cruise. But the moment that made the fans make a rather hysterical demand was when Verstappen said, “Actually I think he [Sergio Perez] is better looking.”

The fans made a louder cheer and chanted “Beso!” “Beso!” (Spanish for ‘kiss’ or ‘peck’).
