Inch by inch, and race by race, the title hopes keep intensifying as Max Verstappen keeps winning. The Dutchman is ever so close to his second championship win, and we’re only in July. There was not much doubt that Verstappen will become a world champion again. However, the Red Bull man is not delaying the inevitable with the utmost authority and absolute dominance.
On a track where overtaking is difficult, the Dutchman started from the middle of the field following a botched qualifying. Although it seemed impossible, the Red Bull stopped at nothing to be the first to take the chequered flag. The incredible drive, coupled with a foolproof strategy executed to perfection, ensured a win for Verstappen.

In the 13th race of the season, the Red Bull man brought home his eighth win of the season. The win meant a lot for the team and for Verstappen, as they further extended the driver’s championship lead to 80-points before we head into the summer break. A testament to the win was Verstappen’s post-race team radio conversation with his race engineer and the boss, Christian Horner.
“Ah mate, what a drive! What a way to finish the first half of the year! P10 to P1, fantastic, “ said race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase.
An excited Verstappen replied, “YES!! Oh, what a race! I think we stayed calm, and we won it.”
“Unbelievable Max, that is right up there with your best, unbelievable, fantastic!” said Horner as he chimed in.
“Amazing result. Who would’ve thought when we woke up that we’re going to win the race?” asked Verstappen.

Only a few could’ve predicted the result of the Hungarian GP and Verstappen cannot put himself on the list. The Dutchman is an ambitious driver, but he is still practical and starting a race from P10? He had his expectation under control.
As evident from his interview, Verstappen did not expect to win. “I was hoping I could get close to a podium, but we had a really good strategy, we were really reactive. Even with the 360 spin we won the race!” admitted Verstappen.
