However, to his dismay, he got caught up in the slight ignorance of two other drivers. Sergio Perez was on the outside, and Charles Leclerc was on the inside. Leclerc had a tire lockout and failed to make the apex.

Sergio Perez was unaware of Leclerc making the move on the inside. Before anything could be done, Leclerc torpedoed into the rear of Perez. Max Verstappen was behind both the cars. Sergio Perez spun around and Max tried to evade the car but ended up in the barriers.

Verstappen was very frustrated at the incident. He was fuming as he clarified on the radio that there wasn’t anything he could have done to save the car.

Meanwhile, George Russell has taken a lead at the beginning. He led his very first lap in Formula 1 and has created a 2-second gap between himself and Bottas. With Verstappen and Leclerc out and Perez back in P11, George Russell’s debut podium looks highly likely.
