The King of Silverstone did it again. Lewis Hamilton celebrated his eighth win on the grid – more than any driver has on their home circuit. After falling behind Verstappen in previous races, Lewis finally redeemed himself – it was his weekend – his backyard, his home soil, his empire. After parading around the circuit in British pride, Hamilton soon embraced his “first ever fan.”
Lewis ran into the arms of the man he idolizes, the person behind his racing career – his father. Anthony Hamilton beamed with pride as his son added another win and another record to his long list of achievements in F1.

The duo radiated triumph as they pat each other on the back.
Hamilton credits his father for his career and making him the person he is today; he is always open about the great impact his father has had on his life.
Last year, Lewis said, “We went away from our first championship singing ‘We Are the Champions,’ the struggles that we had… There were times where we didn’t think we were going to be there. We were not going to make it. … They were worrying times, but he never doubted me once.”
A controversial eighth win for Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s battle for the race lead ended in a controversial collision at Copse corner. This resulted in a very broken Red Bull leaving with a DNF; Max Verstappen was wheeled to the hospital as he walked out of a 51G crash.

The race restart was no good for Hamilton, as Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took charge. The Prancing Horse lead the British Grand Prix for 50 laps before Lewis Hamilton made a move on the car at the same place where the collision took place. Lewis Hamilton was committed to winning his home race, as the crowds roared when he took the lead.
However, this victory doesn’t come to Hamilton as plainly as he’d like. The weight of the trophy comes along with critical trolls on the internet, hatred, and a lot of unnecessary drama. While the internet is at war, so are the two team principals. Each places the blame on the other driver – in what looks like to be a racing incident, as called by the FIA.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will inevitably keep things civil and sporting off the track; however, this incident may catalyze a more intense on-track battle. Both are equally fast and talented drivers and will push harder in the upcoming races. It’s a war now, and there’s so much left to prove.
