How did Lewis Hamilton’s weekend in Budapest go?
Hamilton hoped to bag another win for the Silver Arrows as he was preparing for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Starting on pole position for lights out, gave the Brit some hope. However, as they headed in turn one carnage ensued.
Four drivers were knocked, including his teammate, Valtteri Bottas. When the race was about to restart, every driver except Hamilton pitted to change their intermediate tires. However, this decision proved to be disastrous as the track dried up, Hamilton was struggling to keep pace and a lap later he came back in the garage to replace his tires.
The Knight soon found himself to be at the back of the pack, as he zipped around the Hungaroring. However, Hamilton’s perseverance helped him battle his way up and grab a third-place finish. But, it didn’t end there as Sebastian Vettel was disqualified, this saw Lewis inherit second place.
