Lewis Hamilton has legions of fans around the world, and the number keeps on growing. The 7-time world champion has enamored thousands of motorsport fans around the world with his performances on the racetrack. Hamilton quite often speaks about his fans and always mentions that he is grateful for their support every step of the way.

Recently, he reciprocated their love for him by stopping to sign some autographs ahead of the Monaco GP. His fans were visibly excited to see their hero, who did speak to them for a while signing autographs.

One fan even reminded him of his previous Monaco GP victories (2008, 2016, and 2019) and urged him to win this weekend as well. Not only this, but the fans also pointed out that Lewis has gone on to win the last 2 wet weather races here that took place in 2008 and 2016. So there is a possibility of him repeating the feat if it rains on Sunday.

LH44 Army will be backing their man to take home his fourth win on the iconic streets of Monaco. But Hamilton mentioned it is a challenge to race in the principality every time.

Despite Formula One having so many street tracks on the calendar currently, no place quite matches the challenge and the aura of Monaco. Lewis mentioned it is exhausting mentally to race in the streets, but Monaco is something else.

“It’s unique and probably one of the most intense weekends. The desire and the will to win is revved up. Mentally and psychologically, it is probably the most draining [race],” said Hamilton.

“Because it is so narrow, so quick, so short between the corners. The other street circuits… Baku is slightly wider. This track is literally barrier, barrier, barrier. It’s less physical, just mentally you’re completely stuffed afterward!” said the Mercedes driver.

This season, there has been a cloud of doubt over the performance of Mercedes in 2022. But it looks like the German team has finally been able to resolve their issues heading into Monaco. Hamilton was arguably the best driver of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend after his recovery drive from the back to finish 5th.

But Monaco is a different ball game altogether. So it would be interesting to see if the 7-time world champion and Mercedes can continue to perform after their strong Barcelona showing. A Hamilton win will certainly please his fans across the globe after a bumpy start to the current season.
