The weekend in Qatar was particularly not a good one for the Mclaren team. Lando missed out on a top 5 finish after a late puncture and Ricciardo couldn’t fight back through his Qualifying horrors. However, the weekend went pretty fun off the track for the two drivers. English football star David Beckham was present in the paddock on Sunday. He was a guest of Mclaren for the weekend and was involved in some funny chit-chat with fellow brit Lando Norris and Mclaren CEO Zak Brown before the race.
Notably, Beckham is the ambassador for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He was present in Qatar to promote the coming world cup. In a video uploaded by Mclaren, he can be seen chatting to Norris and Brown about Golf and other stuff.

Lando Norris has developed an intrigue for Golf lately. The brit has been “addicted to golf.” He further asked the football star if he plays the sport. Beckham had a rather interesting reply to this. “I used to play years ago. Then I had four kids and didn’t have the time,” said The ex-Manchester United player.

Mclaren CEO Zak Brown also had some fun moments with Beckham. He showcased his first tattoo on his left arm to Beckham who himself is a big fan of them. “you have picked the easiest spot,” said Beckham jokingly. The English Guest wished them luck for the race but that didn’t quite help them later in the race.
Way ahead for the Mclaren
Mclaren has put up an intense fight against Ferrari for the “best of the rest” position. However, it’s not a close call anymore with the Red Team sitting comfortably on the third spot. Their lead against Mclaren is now over 40 points after both their drivers finished top 8. The Surrey-based team had an unsatisfactory end to the triple-header. “This triple-header didn’t go our way,” said Mclaren Team Principal Andreas Seidl after the Qatar GP.
