Naturally, people of Hamilton’s stature make friends in high places. One such friend invited Hamilton to his birthday back in 2019, and Hamilton pulled up in the most spectacular fashion.

Mercedes and Hamilton are synonymous for so long that it almost feels wrong to see him in a different car. Arriving in New York for American comedian Kevin Hart’s birthday, the highest-paid F1 driver showed off his supercar. The Mercedes man’s supercar in question is his $1.2 million Ferrari LaFerrari. Hamilton is one of only 500 people in the world to own the supercar.

Dressed for the occasion, Hamilton quickly valet parked his car and entered the restaurant. But before entering, Hamilton ignored the most abrupt question by a reporter. He was asked, “Is Daniel Ricciardo going to get a Ferrari?” Now we’re not sure of the context of the question, but Hamilton walked in without either hearing or reacting to the question.

Hamilton squeezed in time to show up at Hart’s birthday and show off his LaFerrari, a week before the British GP. Moreover, the 2019 British Grand Prix is a race that Hamilton won. It is well-known that Silverstone is one of Lewis’s favorite tracks. Favorite not just because it’s Hamilton’s home GP, but also because he’s won the race on eight occasions.

Amid recent struggles in the Mercedes camp, Hamilton is praying for a competitive car by Silverstone. Spanish Grand Prix brought a much-needed morale boost for the Silver Arrows, but that soon vanished. The bouncing was back in Monaco and Baku in a major way and no solution is in sight.

With British Grand Prix just one race away, Hamilton said, “I’m really, really hoping and praying by then (British Grand Prix) at least we’ve got it under control, but I really don’t know whether we will or not. I’m hopeful.”
