The Ferrari Challenge has commenced its 30th-anniversary at Circuit of The Americas for the start of the new 2022 season. The track will be the host to historic Ferrari Challenge race cars. Cars will also have original liveries from previous years lined up for fans throughout the event.

The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli takes place in three continental series – Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. Drivers are allowed to compete in one of four categories on show during the race week. Categories include Trofeo Pirelli and Trofeo Pirelli Am, Coppa Shell and Coppa Shell Am. The distribution occurs depending on the performance levels to maximize entertainment of the event,

At Circuit of The Americas, 6 of the 8 will get a chance in Ferrari’s 488 GT Modificata, one of the most powerful cars on track.

The first car was introduced back in 1992 on the Mugello track, at the Ferrari Challenge called the 348 Challenge. A European series in 1993 followed with a North American series in 1994. In 2012, the expansion of the Ferrari opened up opportunities in the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, in 2019, a national series began in the United Kingdom for British drivers.

Will Ferrari live up to its expectations in Formula 1?

The Ferrari F1 team celebrates its 75th anniversary in the sport. Drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be hoping to push the team closer to the top. In the last few seasons, they have been disappointing, to say the least. With the last victory coming at the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix, the team will be looking to push on from the P3 in the Constructors’ Standings in 2021.

Moreover, Ferrari were impressive in pre-season testing in Barcelona. The car clocked impressive timings close to the likes of Red Bull and Mercedes. The Scuderia will be buoyant with the new regulations coming into place this year. However, Ferrari is going to bring a mostly unchanged car second test in Bahrain, despite rivals Mercedes and Red Bull expected to use major upgrades. The 2022 F1 season begins at the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20.
