The 2022 season is moving towards the second race, while fans are still talking about the nail-biter Bahrain GP. The legendary Italian F1 team Ferrari dominated the season opener with a 1-2 finish. Charles Leclerc finished first while his teammate Carlos Sainz finished next to him.

The Monegasque driver is one of the best young talents in the sport. The 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix win was the third win in his career. The 24-year-old bagged his first F1 win during his first year with Ferrari in the 2019 Belgium GP. After a week, Leclerc got his second career win in the Italian Grand Prix.

But after the Italy race in 2019, the Ferrari driver couldn’t bag a win in the next two seasons. Hence, The Bahrain GP win this season means so much to Leclerc; not only because it is his third career win, but also because it came after a two-year-long dry spell.

Leclerc was so thrilled about his victory at the 2022 season-opener that he forgot to shut down his Ferrari F1-75 at the parc ferme. Eventually, a Ferrari engineer has to switch off Leclerc’s car.

Ferrari are currently the favorites to dominate the 2022 season after their phenomenal performance in the pre-season and the 1-2 finish in the season opener. The Maranello-based team this season not only has a strong car but also a very strong driver lineup with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Both drivers have been phenomenal in this season so far. But, as things stand, Leclerc stands a bit above his teammate, after his masterclass at Bahrain the entire weekend.

The Monegasque is dominating the season with the F1-75. Leclerc gave a hard time to the reigning champion Max Verstappen in the season opener. The Ferrari man didn’t give a single opportunity to Max’s RB18 to overtake and keep the position in the race. Leclerc revealed that their impressive performance is the result of their struggles over the past two seasons.

“There’s been a massive amount of work and also quite a mentality reset. After 2019 we had two very difficult years and the team at the factory have been working extremely well,” said Leclerc. “We’ve also been very good at identifying the weaknesses of the previous cars and came with these new cars, a very strong car, and [that] made it possible for us to be fighting for better positions.”
