After a year’s hiatus from the Formula One calendar, the United States Grand Prix made its return this year. Hence, it wasn’t a surprise to see the fans be euphoric for the race in Austin.

However, one incident that was loved by the F1 community was when fans had an encounter with the Team Principal of Mercedes, Toto Wolff. As the Austrian boss was leaving the venue, spectators got to meet the Mercedes’ boss.

The sport is known for its energetic fan base, and when the paddock arrived in Texas for the United States Grand Prix, the buzz surrounding Formula One was unreal.

After the exciting race, which saw Red Bull’s Max Verstappen claim victory, fans were over the moon, as it made the title race even more interesting. However, when spectators at the Circuit of the Americas got a chance to meet Wolff, they couldn’t hold in their excitement.

As the Mercedes boss was leaving the track with his entourage, he waved to fans who had been patiently waiting. When they saw Wolff, fans were jumping around with joy, cheering for him and hugging one another.

Mercedes took to Twitter to show them their appreciation. They wrote, “Texas = Toto Nation.”

A tough battle ahead for the Silver Arrows

The Brackley-based squad suffered another defeat this season, which heavily affected their championship hopes. Mercedes were already trailing behind in the drivers’ championship, and after the US Grand Prix, Red Bull are slowly closing the gap in the constructors’ championship.

Now with a week off, the Wolff-led team will be hoping to make amends at the upcoming Mexican Grand Prix. They hope to bring a stellar result, with the intention of winning the lead in the driver’s championship through Lewis Hamilton.
