Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher are good friends, and for some time now. Probably why Mick gave all of us a wholesome moment and an excellent example of fair play. During the Australian Grand Prix, FP3 Mick stopped to check on his buddy Sebastian Vettel. Mick spotted Vettel during a red flag incident and stopped his car near him to check on him.
Coordinating with his team over the radio, Mick asked the team if Vettel was okay as he slowed down. Vettel spun in the gravel and hit the wall, but he was completely fine. But it was nice seeing Mick stop to check up on his friend.

Friends for life: Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher
Showing incredible sportsmanship there, Mick Schumacher slowed down and made sure Vettel was alright before he drove off. Met through his father, Mick and Vettel both met when Vettel was a driver for Ferrari. Vettel has since considered young Mick as a friend.

Sometimes acting as a mentor, Vettel has admitted he always tried to help Mick. Mick rose through the ranks from Formula 2 before joining Haas F1 team. Vettel moved to Aston Martin in 2021. Both Mick and Vettel suffered some tough times with their new teams, respectively.

However, the Haas has improved and the VF-22 is a rapid machine and is definitely competitive. Mick has an excellent opportunity to showcase his driving skills in this season’s Formula 1.
Vettel, on the other hand, has a mountain to climb. The Aston Martin has been below par, to say the least! Vettel, who’s back after a month-long absence because of coronavirus, needs to catch up.

But seeing these two share a moment is delightful to see. Let’s hope we see more such incidents of fair play on and off the track.

Friends on track?
After Vettel’s return, from a covid infused month-long hiatus, he is ready for the Australian Grand Prix. Even though his enthusiasm did not result in a better starting position for the race on the grid. It would still be nice for him to be back and racing again.

He is starting at P18, and his friend Mick is on P15. It would be interesting to see how these two race against each other should the opportunity present itself.
No matter who comes out on top of this battle on track, I doubt it will hinder their relationship off track. And that’s the kind of examples we would like to see more of.
