Daniel Ricciardo is one of the several drivers that moved on to a different team after last season. The Australian joins McLaren as the pair look forward to climbing the championship standings together. The Woking outfit shared the video of Ricciardo’s seat fit during his first day at the factory.

As a driver in a new team, seat fitting is one of the most important rituals. However, this time around, Daniel Ricciardo’s seat fit was unsuccessful.

“Is this my seat? I can’t get in it,” laughed Ricciardo. However, the Australian was very excited to see the new papaya color car. “I think the first time you see the new car at the start of any new year it’s pretty cool,” he shared further.

The team and Ricciardo then shared information on moving forward with the seat readjustment because when you’re in a racing car that travels at around 300kmph, comfortability matters.

As the Australian was testing his seat, the McLaren unboxing video also caught a glance of his steering wheel. Riccardo’s steering wheel had a social message for the Formula 1 community.

It spelled, “END RACISM. D . Ricciardo 03. McLaren F1.” The Australian must be excited to join his new team. McLaren will also be glad to have him and hope he can help then perform better on the grid.

Ricciardo joined Renault in 2019 and after an underwhelming P9 finish last season, the Australian helped Renault to a much better 2021  season as he finished in the P5 position.

Meanwhile, McLaren had their best result since 2012 last season. The new team attitude and open culture helped the Woking team finish in the P3 position as they claimed 202 points.

McLaren will hope that Ricciardo will be the catalyst to the team’s momentum and help them deliver a stronger result. Do you reckon the Woking outfit and the Australian will deliver a better finish on the championship standings this season?
