Zak Brown is the man leading McLaren on the Formula One gird and is a generally lovable character to have around the paddock. In fact, the team also has a nickname for their boss, as revealed by Daniel Ricciardo.

Brown led the Woking-based team to third place last season. Now, with an experienced driver in Ricciardo and the fast-evolving talents of Lando Norris, they believe they can chase the title.

In the current 2021 season, the team currently sits in P3 in the standings behind Red Bull and Mercedes. They hope to have a good result in Italy and get more points for the championship.

Daniel Ricciardo reveals the nickname that they have kept for their boss

In a YouTube video posted by McLaren, the Australian driver went undercover to reply to messages from fans. In one of his answers, he revealed the team’s nickname for Brown.

Zak is known as ‘Uncle Buck’ in and around McLaren’s paddock. Uncle Buck was a movie character in the 80s and the name stuck as both share some similar looks.

In response to a message from a fan saying Zak looks like uncle Buck, Ricciardo said“Little did you know, some of us call him, Uncle Buck“.

He further added, “Anyone who was not born in post-2000s should know who Uncle Buck is.”
