It’s finally happening! Hold your horses, because Cyril Abiteboul will finally be getting his tattoo! In a recent Instagram post, Daniel Ricciardo looks on proudly as his former boss gets a tattoo on his leg.
What do we know about it? It looks big and reading Daniel’s expression, it looks wicked. Ricciardo also teased a video coming out in two days: “A bet’s a bet.” Cyril finally getting the long-awaited tattoo? Bring the popcorn out!

The talk about the tattoo had come to light after Ricciardo’s current boss got a tattoo. Toto Wolff challenged McLaren’s Zak Brown to get a tattoo- one which Ricciardo oversaw. While Brown ended up with a meaningful outline of the Monza circuit, will Abiteboul be let off easily by the prankster?

What was Cyril Abiteboul’s bet with Daniel Ricciardo?
The former Renault boss and the Aussie shook hands over a hilarious bet: if Ricciardo put Renault in a podium position, Cyril would get a tattoo of the driver’s choice. And Daniel won gloriously; twice.

While the team and the driver celebrated, the team principal was worried. But after Ricciardo’s move to McLaren this season, the wager had been delayed. Having placed P3 in the Nurburgring, Ricciardo has often hinted that the tattoo would be an ode to Germany.
“We’ll have to do some thinking now but probably it will be something to do with me, but I think with a German flavor.” Ricciardo added, “That is obviously the place we did it. A little tip of the hat to something traditional in Germany as well.”

As we await the big reveal, Ricciardo is sure to make things difficult for his former boss. Will he go easy on good old Cyril?
