The 2022 season of Formula 1 has started in a high-flying fashion for Charles Leclerc. Ferrari came into the season as pre-season favorites after showing impressive pace during testing. They have not looked back ever since the campaign started with a 1-2 in Bahrain, followed by a double podium in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Ferrari’s hopes of a Championship lie on Leclerc as they look to end a 13-year drought.
Leclerc has shown his potential countless times in the famous red of Ferrari. It looks like he finally has a car capable of winning the Championship. And he is the current leader in the driver’s championship standings. He has also stated his desire to win as many races as possible, but he enjoys a place on the podium and a trophy to his name as he was spotted playing with the award in an interview.

Charles Leclerc adores the trophy
The Monegasque driver finished P2 in Jeddah and gave a customary interview with his teammate Carlos Sainz. As the Spaniard was giving his thoughts on the race, Leclerc seemed to enjoy a moment with his trophy.

He was giving a massage to the trophy as Sainz was conveying what he can do to improve in the up-and-coming races. It is no doubt that the Monegasque relishes being on the podium.

The Ferrari fans certainly adored the moment and will hope their team and Charles can deliver their promise after an exciting beginning to the campaign. Meanwhile, his teammate has also endured a solid start to 2022. Sainz will aspire to compete with the likes of Leclerc and Verstappen, with 21 races remaining.

The Ferrari driver is currently on top of the driver’s standings. He could become the youngest driver to win a championship with the Prancing Horse. However, this is the last chance of achieving this as he turns 26 next year, the same age Niki Lauda took home the title in a Ferrari.
Speaking on his dominating start to the season, Charles is quietly confident in Ferrari’s prospects. However, the former Alfa Romeo driver believes he still has some areas to work on. He said, “Of course I’m pretty happy with this start to the season. But there will definitely be more to come. I know exactly what I’m still working on and what I need to improve to find more performance.”
